wa...donno how long liao nv meet up wit ex-crew! well..its a last min planning.

so decided on 16 apr, where majority is free. as usual, meet up for movie, than dinner plus fun chit chat! tinkin of since when is the last time we meet up? 2010?

in the end only ting, henny, shawnny, stacy, diying able to meet up. lol..i was like the only male. -.-"

so meet at 430. only i n ting turn up early. shocking is tat diying still slping! henny n shawnny donno do wat..take cab come.

decided on the movie call "scream 4". as not many ppl is watchin, so last min go buy still got gd seat. actually wan to watch Rio, but than around 12pm, all the gd seat taken liao. so only 4 of us watchin the movie.

wa..the movie is really lame like siao! but the effects is gd.

after watchin movie, as we on the way at 1st lvl, stacy join us. follow by diying at mac.

deciding at where to eat also headache lo.. lucky someone mention jubilee! yup..tat is the newly renovated small mall. not yet finish renovating is eng wah cinema.

as all of them nv try b4 popeyes fast food, so we try it out. price somehow same as mac. quite reasonable ba. is only abit exp.

after we finish eating, we stay there to chit chat. really enjoying chit chatting+ gossiping! haha.. spend 2 hours there..

b4 we went off for ice cream cone at mac, we plan the next date to meetup again. it will be in june. hopefully more ppl will join in. but than the problem is scare later no gd place to sit down n chat.

we than go to mac n hang out there for awhile until 1130 plus.

looking forward to next outing!! :D

new news abt the downtown line! downtown line 3 which is the final stretch for the whole downtown line. 16 stations total for DTL3, distance is 21km. by the time all DTL is completed, it wil be 42km for the whole Downtown Line. 3 more stations wil be interchange, which is Macpherson, Tampines n Expo.

Copper Mod for Acer Aspire 4937G (NVIDIA GeForce G105M GPU)

*Note: this copper mod helps to reduce temperature on GPU. prevent it from extreme high temperature tat hit its threshold temperature, thus switch off itself automatically to prevent damage to components. i can do it at a fee if u wan it.

-brought on ebay from a seller, chips2481 on 24 apr 2010.

-arrived in s'pore on 4 may 2010.

thickness is 1.1mm (0.044")
(0.9mm thickness is also suitable)

size is 19mm by 19mm (0.75")
*this size is kind of too big, due to seller hav only this size for the thickness of 1.1mm.
a size of 10mm by 10mm is enough to cover the whole gpu die size.

thermal grease/paste was included, but for excellent performance, i use Arctic Cooling MX-2 instead.

as the heatsink copper block on gpu is only 15mm by 15mm, thus oversize.

but well, no need to worry, as the surrounding alum is a little lower.

Before copper mod, temperature were quickly increase to 90++ degrees!

After copper mod, temperature were still steady @ 88 degrees after 11mins of stress test!

power on n off frequently could increase the chance of failure.
[reason: the solder on mainboard can crack if always expand(power on) n contract(power off), thus could not hav gd connectivity]. but of cos, there is a way to solve this.

seems that OpenNet is rushing all its laying of fibre optic cable, wiring up, testing!

they even working during middle of the nite!

jus ytd nite opp my blk, 204. they r working on at the staircase between 1st n 2nd floor. y i knw? becos they place a long tube light, n the light shine in my bedroom.

i hav also hav c the fibre optic reaching my blk staircase liao.

n the installation date(check from opennet) for my blk hav been earlier! from sept to june this year! wooh, cant wait! as the service is starting this year Q3.

n jus ytd, decided to go to sim lim square to get 1 reel of cat5e cable, tats 305metres(1000ft) for $98. brand is Draka. i'm not using for 10GE speed, so no need to use cat6 cable. haha.. 1Gps is enough.

y i buy tat brand? becos it is made in S'pore! hahaha.. no la, cos cheap n gd i would say.

i have also brought some faceplate, keystone, punch-down tool from ebay. hopefully it will be in my mailbox tmr!

actually i hav already lay a cable from my room to living, n to rear room. but than it is a stranded cable. so the performance cannot beat compare to a solid one. n according to the rules, it must be a solid cat5e cable type in order to punch down to a keystone faceplate.

so i do a dual laying, in simple, it will be 2 cables running from start point to end point. so that in case 1 cable got problem, i still got another one.

although some hole were difficult to pull another cable through, i still manage to pull it through.

ok, so i took nearly 7 hours to finish all the laying. from around 12pm to 7pm. most of the time, i hav to make the power cable to 1 side, so tat it wont hav so much interference to the network cable.

in total, i hav to pull through 10 holes, layed total 70Metres!

i rmb tat time when i went to EG(eastern guide) factory to get some 30M cat5e cable, but had problem wit blue n blue/white. connectivity was bad. i even saw 1 part where the cables were twisted like hell when tat person were measuring. even say it was normal.(recent brought this Draka brand(made in s'pore) dont hav tat "twisted like hell" part leh..) i tink tat cables was made in china! no wonder... "1 time is enough"!

one more thing, the cables going to utility room hav to pass through both mbr n common toilet. lucky between 2 toilet hav hole, or else donno how to lay liao.

wit the help of self-made separator! haha...

jus look at how small the hole is, to pull another 2 network cables in.. (tat is to living room)

using existing aircon trucking to lay cable through, no need to make another holes.

some tips on your home aircon.. (i hav taken over maintenance since installed new aircon on apr 09)

things to take note:
1. wash air filter (for me, every 2 weeks)
2. clean FCU(fan coil unit) wit a cloth wit light detergent (for me, every 2 weeks)
3. wash CU(condenser unit) fin (for me, every 2 weeks to 1 month, during raining day)
4. suck drainage pipe (for me, every 2 weeks to 1 month)

u dont hav to worry so much now! if u r using office 2007 or 2010 version.

this office 2007 or 2010 hav built in features to help u autosave your work in a preset timing! in case u donno..

below this guide is for office 2007. for office 2010, it will be after this.

1st, click the button on the top left corner.

than click Options.

a screen will than pop-up.
now click Save tab, tick the box n adjust the adjust the time as shown below.
do take note tat default 10min is too long. recommended is 1 or 2 mins.

this is for office 2010...it will be abit difference.

than, Options.

jus a short post on 1 of the error tat appear on Epson printer after i change a cartridge. FYI, my printer is TX400.

found the ans after a search.

My printer cannot recognize the cartridges. How can I fix this?

This is a common error. Since the CIS & refillable cartridges are not OEM, you may run into this error from time to time. This is normal. To fix this error, please remove all the cartridges and turn off your printer. Wait about 5 minutes and then restart and re-install all the cartridges. This will reset the printer and cartridges. Repeat if necessary.

A GUIDE TO CLEAN DUST CHOKED IN BETWEEN HEATSINK & FAN of Acer Aspire 4937G laptop

this is a guide to those ppl using Acer Aspire 4937G laptop..n who experience laptop jus shut off when playing game. this one is suitable for those who knows wat they r doing. will not be responsible for any damage u did to your laptop.

ok..lets start by turnin yr laptop upside down.

than remove the side cap rubber pad tat hidden the screw. do the same for the other side.

now u can c the screw for the cap. so remove the screw. (dont mix these 2 screws)

slowly slide it out.

side cap removed.

unlock the batt..

remove those screw circled.
(the below 2 pic of 2 screws is different from those above as they r longer)

(below 4 screws r the same, but these 4 r also different from above 2 sets.)

a zoom in of where the screw is...

after removing the 6 screws. turn over n open the lcd screen.

same for both side

slowly "pluck" it up.. n open slowly from left to right.

slightly pull up the tape n remove 2 speaker screws. than remove the speaker. be careful of the cable at the left.

remove the keyboard.
jus lift up the keyboard. DONT lift up by the key! or else u will pluck the key out.
u might wan to lift n move side by side. as u can c both side there is a hook holding to the keyboard.

move the keyboard forward, n u can c the cable attached.

now to remove the cable, either use a tool in the pic or by hand. but jus be gentle by slowly push up both side colour in black.

turn over the keyboard towards u. than remove the cable by pulling the blue tape which is attached for easy remove n insert.

remove the speaker cable.

speaker removed!

next, hav to remove the 2 lcd cable. as the cable obstruct the hole.

circled in red is the where the dust wil get choke there. thus airflow wont be able to cool the whole heatsink.

finally to use a vacuum cleaner to suck it out!

to fix it back, jus go the reverse way, n u r done!

new Facebook java app for sony ericsson phone is jus out!

so if u happens to update your phone through SEUS(Sony Ericsson Update Service), u will c the app appearing under Application..very gd rite? but wait..dont be happy too early. :P

this Facebook app only available through Branded phone. wat i mean branded is tat the phone is re-customised through different provider, eg. SingTel, M1, Starhub. so they will add this java app in. not sure abt other provider n other brand phone, but SingTel is pushing it out to all sony ericsson phone through SEUS.

for those who brought at 6range shop, those r unbranded, so if u try to update, it wont hav Facebook inside.

ok.. so i flash to SingTel customised CDA, than extract out the app. i already found out tat they hav updated the Facebook app which i c the screenshot at one of the forum, tats y i flash to branded n extract it out. :D

so this is a bonus to u! only for sony ericsson phone.

here comes the bad thing for some of u.. this app will auto startup when u switch on your phone, so therefore it will connect using gprs or wifi(if your phone hav n its enabled). so u hav to end the app everytime u start your phone. u also hav to do some setting in the Facebook app itself, so tat it will not update itself. i guess u knw how to do from there!

SINGAPORE: Fibre optic cables for Singapore's new, ultra high-speed broadband network will be installed into homes and offices from September.

The company contracted to do the installation, OpenNet, will start sending out letters to homeowners from July.

Residents have three weeks to respond and installation is free.

Those who want it installed at a later date will have to pay S$220 for apartments and S$450 for landed properties.

OpenNet will start installation in four clusters - Macpherson/Braddell, Jurong, Middle Road, and Geylang/Eunos.

It expects work to be completed in 56,000 homes and 1,000 office buildings within the first month, and 60 per cent of all homes and offices by 2010, and 95 per cent by 2012.

You can log on to www.opennet.com.sg to check when OpenNet is installing the cables in your home or office.

OpenNet says it expects to invest over S$100 million in total to complete the project, on top of the S$750 million funding from the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA).

since the start of Singapore Flyer, didnt hav the chance of experience on it. becos of the price is too exp, tink this is the main concern to everyone, isnt it?

so i somehow go to singapore flyer website to hav a look at it. susprisingly, i c singtel customer can get free ride when present singtel logo or bill!

WOW!! tat was really wonderful. is it becos of the major breakdown tat cause nobody wan to go? so wan to pull ppl go there? or is it its 1st year birthday? hahaha..

ok..the promotion start only May, every sat n sun n public holidays. only 500 free tickets per day.

guess wat? our whole family is singtel customer! wahahaha... shldnt be a problem than..

lookin back 9 years ago since our hse start to install aircon for 2 room, which is parents room n our room. wow...tat Fuji Electric system 2 really serve us well for 9 years!! cant even imagine tat our aircon use for so long since installed in year 2000.

but than the FCU(fan coil unit) at parents room dont seems workin well. i tink since when we had it normal wash. cost around $40, but the workmanship was terrible! our room didnt wash, so is ok(it stil serve us really well, our room setting 26 degrees wit max fan speed), but my parents room will hav noise. tink its the fan tat rub against something tat causes the sound. some more only i can feel fan flowin out from one side, the other side is nth.

so well, we decided to get a new aircon..wooh!

my mum than consider Daikin as it was the only brand tat specialize in aircon. u can look around the hse n business.. majority is using Daikin.. well, i started to love Daikin! :P

than we had a walk at Jurong Point @ Fairprice Xtra.. tink tat is on 17/4, fri ba.

so we take a look at the pricing n brand of the aircon. n to my surprise, $2799 for Daikin system 4, wit 3 ticks!! wow...tat was really cheap price! which means 3 fcu is 9K BTU, 1 18K BTU(which is for living room). n my mum was also tinkin tat the price was really gd.

we than decided to install it! so each of us hav to fork out some by so call "installment" after we hav some discussion. haha..

we than choose the date, 22/4 wed to come install as is my dad's off day. but than it got crash wit my sch. cos sch reopen ler ma. so no choice got to pon 1st day FYP. lol..

the insulation really rot badly..tink tats for my parents one. no wonder my mum complain aircon not cold. this is the reason.

after a few days, it seems tat the living room one,i nv on, the coil inside wil get cold. so below the louver there wil have water vapour, n a feel of cold air..

so i call daikin which i hav make an immediate appointment, lucky tat they were able to make it come the next day.

actually the service man say tat is quite normal for this to happen.(becos of the suction of the compressor tat cos it to leak through) becos it was made for the valve not to close tight. after than he cut away a resistor(for the particular valve controllin livin room one) which control the tightness of the valve. now the valve wil tighten tightly all the way.

therefore, yeah. the next morning i wake up, no more problem liao..

a closer look at the outdoor unit fin..

i rearrange the wire, so tat it wil not touch the insulation.

some damaged fin when carrying out the unit. well..it takes quite long to move it out.

after some research on these aircon stuff, actually there is 1 thing call "fin comb" which is use to straighten or clean the fin. so decided to buy 1 from ebay, since only there can buy the stuff.

this is the one...

but than, the 6 sizes cannot fit both indoor n outdoor unit fin. anyway i tried on old aircon, n size 14 works only on outdoor unit. (*note: i'm selling this away on ebay)

so i stil rmb there is an other one which have 12 sizes. than i brought tat one too. quite rare too, becos it has all the sizes.

haha..so gonna straighten all those bended fin!

i took very long to reach + straighten it..

some tips: straighten these fin helps in air flow. the efficiency wil be better. u can use a screwdriver to straighten, no need to buy fin comb. fin comb can also clean the dirts in between too.

previously i hav brought a energy meter, so tat i can c the voltage, current in ampere n watt, kWh, price, time. so this is really in gd use now..

the plug used by aircon is using round pin, so hav to convert it to normal rectangular which we normal plug in.

to how i do it, pic wil explain better.

ATTENTION: NOT ALL AIRCON IS SUITABLE FOR THIS!
-make sure u hav the knowledge of electrical wiring.
-your aircon max current is below 13A. (mine max is 7.6A)

actually i jus simply got a socket, additional plug, some wires.

some thing to note, try to keep the length from main aircon socket to 13A socket as short as possible(the white wire), as these wire wil get warm. if u were to tie up long wire, it wil gets really warm.

i take off the wooden board to look at how the pipes connect to outdoor unit.

insulation use is K-FLEX. all thickness is 3/8".

somehow thinkin of getting sort of device tat can measure how much the current or watt the thing consume. so research n got this Kill-A-Watt meter. but than dont seems tat this is for s'pore becos of the 3-pin is different from us.

suddenly i found from hardwarezone forums, got ppl discussin abt where to get power consumption meter so as to find out which thing consumes alot of electricity. i than went on readin the post.

ahh!!! sometimes its damm suai tat my graphics card up lorry! so i hav no choice but to send it for repair(can say change the board) at PCDreams for 350 bucks. sian! but well, worth it if everythings works as normal, y not? haha..

so decided to look at the service guide(in PDF format) tat i hav dl'ed sometime ago. after tat, not really understand wat the service guide say, so search again for vids. thanks for the guy at notebookreview forum which uploads the vids again for disassembly of the whole unit. so watch it as i go.

take a clear look at the cpu. it is socketed! so it means the cpu is upgradeable.

lol..recently brought lot of stuff from ebay, which is import from overseas.

yeah...finally i got to upgrade my desktop cpu to dual core, AMD Athlon 64 X2 939-pin(its a 2nd hand). this cpu is no longer in production ler. so if u wan, u hav to get it from ebay which is from US. in less than 200 bucks, u can get it ler.

thickness is 2mm. actually there is a gap between the graphics/chipset and heatsink. so need to get this thick thermal pad to fill the gap.

*a tips to ppl getting stuff from overseas(eg. ebay), make sure they post/mail out the stuff on fri(tat means u hav to complete the transaction on early friday or earlier), becos the cargo flight wil only fly on friday to singapore. unless tat person is not using normal mail, which it start flying next day. if tat person mail out on sat, than u hav to wait for 11 days including weekends. normally it wil reach yr mailbox on wednesday.

btw anyone who owns acer aspire 5580 series, if u hav hardware related problem or need maintenance or upgrade, u can ask me, but i will be charging a small fee.

yeah! finally it arrived on wed in the mailbox! AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ socket 939 processor!
really very fast shipping! order it n made payment on fri(time there is slower than s'pore) n received it on wed. total 5 days to reach..postal date is also same, 27 feb. it is 2nd hand btw.
1st time buy it n shipped from overseas. i thought it is packed in box which is in package, but no..it is envelope. big envelope i would say. jus tat it is able to fit inside the mailbox.

it is using USPS(Priority Mail International, Flat Rate Envelope). can say most seller from ebay wil be using it for international shipping. payment would be paypal. so ebay n paypal is somehow linked. which in under paypal account can track the package. search the net, most of the ppl experience long time arrive of the item. as indicated b4 i made payment, it is from 6 to 10days. so, fast shipping!

recently brought another 2 hdd for RAID 1 ytd.. at PC Theme for $92 each, Seagate 7200.12, 500GB, ST3500418AS.(firmware inside is stated ST3500410AS, so i donno y). very silent when seeking. only hear abit when my ear were very near to the hdd.

so i'm here to share the benchmark using hdtune. this benchmark r for reference to those considering to upgrade their OS drive or to faster drive. for those using eSATA from notebook PCMCIA, it wil max out at 75.1MB/s. more worse if u were to use for usb, as max is 30MB/s. only recommended for desktop sata.

recently there hav been a wide spread of rubbish comments from friendster where it will auto send a comments wit pic n link. if u click tat link, a virus wil be stored in yr com if yr antivirus not gd enough to block or dont recognise it. for those using Antivirus 2008/ Antivirus 2009, do not use this as this is malicious software.

hi.. i have received many stupid comments in which my friends did not even send it. it is about some nude pictures with links. it's being starting to pass it around very fast. i have attached a screenshot of it.

so i hope that this you can stop this by finding out who is behind this. hopefully that you can treat this seriously. i don't want friendster.com to be like this where hackers can be easily access to accounts and send nonsense pictures or links.

wooh! finally a long kept XBOX360 alive again!

despite using it for demo game downloads which need a silver membership. although can also use it for watchin video n listenin music, y don i use my com to watch n listen leh? haha..

but really is very sian wit only play the demo and to get a EXPENSIVE game which cost $70 plus!! omg.. so this time i gonna hack it! so brought the necessary tools to open up the XBOX360 which needs a star screwdriver lo..

beware, it void warranty. but i tink, "who cares anyway"! will this prevent me from hackin? no no... haha..

b4 i do anything, i hav to do my "homework" 1st.. its always important to get some "homework" done b4 yr dreams come true! lol..

after dl it, it is not as easy as burnin an image using nero. hav to use this Imgburn to support .dvd format. also need a DVD+R DL disc(dual layer disc) for 1 game. most dvd writer nowadays shld be able to support dual layer disc.

anyone had taken the new smrt bus?

compare to sbstransit one, quite alot of different. i mean the experience in bus. not exterior. haha..

now, lets compare them.
anyway i donno y there is a big gap below there. so jus scroll down.

	SBS Transit	SMRT bus
balance bus when stop	pump n release slowly.	it jus pumps up quick, the whole bus wil jus shake.
accessibility to bell	easy to reach when seated or standing.	difficult to reach for those standing as it is near window.
rear door close alarm	as normal "ting tong".	incredibly noisy, similiar to trains.
auto gearing	vibrate when slow speed (after 3rd or 4th gear).	won't vibrate even driving slow.
for wheelchair	doesnt have any belt to secure.	have a secure belt (jus like seat belt).
bus plate	clearly visible.	its real small, cant even c when at the back.
aircon temperature	fan speed is high, comfortable temperature.	very cold. for smrt, fan speed is adjustable.
bus horn	poorer than old bus, will sound towards inside too.	no change, same as old bus.
rear flooring (after exit door)	less steep, more steps towards end.	only 1 step at the back, but very steep. quite dangerous for standing.

highlighted red is disadvantage. mayb for me only? haha... well, this is jus a info. might be useful for u.

so overall? sbstransit bus stil the best of all. haha..

and now instructions on wat to do after downloading the manual patch...
1) for version 6052 and 6053, jus open the file and press install, yes to all...
2) for version 6054, 6055, 6056 and AMB, extract the files from winRAR to ur desktop...
3) do this one version by one version in case u become confuse...
4) e.g in 6054, there is only one file under the folder data...
thus u cut the FILE (not folder) and open "my computer"
then double click in this order...
C drive> programme file> auditionsea> data
paste the file u copied into the "data" folder...
pop up asking u if u wan to overwrite...
click yes...
5) tada! 6054 is completed!
6) next, for 6055 double click the file and u will see data, hshield, script etc...
7) copy the FILES(not filders) inside each folder and replace them into the auditionsea ones!
8) IMPORTANT! LOOK CAREFULLY AND REPLACE! meaning dont copy files inside hshield and replace them in auditionsea>"data" folder! must make sure u are in the right folder!
A pop up would be present to ask u if u wan to overwrite...
9) repeat these steps for all manual patch and AMB...
10) there is a logo in 6055, paste it in the "auditionsea" folder...
11) there shld also be a pop up asking u if u wan to overwrite!
12) then, after all patches press start...
13) click run...
14) type "regedit"
15) press according to this order: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > AUDITION > ASIS_SING > VERSION
16) Select "Decimal" and type in "6056" then press OK then exit.

now u are ready to go and enjoy season 2!

mon:
at nite, install this new version of NERO 9[*edit:the setup is from torrent]. donno the setup had virus inside, continue to install happily. so at around 20%, my SUPERAntispyware pop up say there is a "virus" detected. so immediately uninstall.
after than forgot wat i did. donno is it got hang or wat, or switch off n on.

when after booting windows, BSOD(blue screen of death).

continue on tue:
normally this happens when some system files is corrupted. so went on to repair windows. cant works. than try to go to recovery console to check disk for system files error n others. tried many thing n also did a search on web. no solution was found. giv up n format, install windows.

everything goes on smooth til wed tat everything had install stuff back.

on wed nite, b4 goin to slp, use nero vision to burn n convert video(wat my mum wan to watch HK show) to dvd disc.

thurs:
wake up.. suddenly when i c my screen, BSOD again.

but this time is different. n i thought somehow got minor problem. so switch off n on. suddenly something was not rite, bios loadin was slow when start to detect hdd. so follow by a black screen wit blinkin cursor. than a sentence come out, "DISK READ ERROR". i was like "shock"! couldnt believe it, continue to off n on, but stil the same. suspect the head spoilt ler.

take out the hdd n use desktop to check able to access the hdd. but it wil somehow hang the com when loadin windows(already plug in b4 on). try again plug in when the com is in desktop, also hang. try many method, like "external" it, same! also cant read the files inside. also heard some "disk head wan to move but cannot move" sound. also can be feel by hand.

SIAN!!!

search on net for some info on freelancer tat can open up the hdd, but nth. tink becos openin up hdd needs a 100% clean environment room. only those place, recovery can be done. well...too exp actually. giv up n went to Achieva to RMA ler.

good bye... all my bao bei data gone. *cry*

brought this hdd around march. so within 1 year, 1-to-1 exchange. so no need to wait to be send to SEAGATE, tat tat time when RMA wit MAXTOR hdd. immediately got a replacement one. but its not a brand new one, is a "Repaired HDD".

so ppl...do backup yr stuff from time to time. hdd failure could jus happens suddenly. u wont know one. hopefully this "Repaired hdd" could last long since tat brand new one cant last more than 6mths. haiz..

the modem near tel socket. c the white cable(solid)? tat is when i 'get' it from ITE lo.. yeah..got it in use now. btw solid cable provides better performance, tats y i'm usin it from socket to modem. but now stil considerin buyin FTP(foiled) cable from bt(block terminal, outside doorstep) all the way to the room. tat would hav to also ground it, thus more better performance from all those noise n EMI!!

no more wires hangin out from socket! except those wit tel.. cos i terminate it inside the socket.
so not only i knw abt networkin stuff, tel stuff i also getting in too... :D

tink tat time during whole hse rewiring, hate tat person, nv change tel line from doorstep to hse main socket. only new one from main socket to other room, doorstep to new room. n tat wire seems donno how old. somemore tat wire is SOLID type, which only lay one time. becos if take out n lay back, quality drops as some place wil break.

so buy cat5e cable(which is proven to last for decades!) 20m for $30 at amk hub. made in japan. ntuc one is $18.90, made in china. hmm...better try not to buy china one as some forum ppl said china made one not all 4pairs can work. so cut open the wire n see it is STRANDED, which is better than SOLID! becos it has a smaller 'bend- radius' which can squeeze in tight corner wit only little loss. so no problem doing it.

so did it last tue after come back from sch. took hrs to finish layin.. so finally done it around 1030plus... tested n it improved!

c the line stat:-

SN Margin (Down) from 15dB to 19dB. line attenuation stays at 22dB. the line of adsl2+, the higher the SN Margin the better, lower the attenuation the better. we always look at the Down side of line stat(DSL connection). b4 tat i didnt cut off the old one which is stil connected at doorstep there(which is call block terminal), so it got inteference tat cos attenuation to go up n sn margin to do even lower. lucky find out n cut away... haha..

ahh...stupid contractor! under the Code Of Practice For Internal Telecommunication Wiring, power cable shld be separated from tel cable. they shld not be parallel together.

so no choice, got to DIY myself to separate it out. it wil overall prevent EMI interference from those power cable..becos electricity is a high frequency. so as well also put ethernet cable together too..

took 3 days to complete the whole thing lo...very long rite? no...cos i stil hav to do other things, tats y took 3 days long...lol.

really very happy tat i finally success in usin PPPoE through 2 wireless router. which means router 1 wil be connected to the modem, n than through wireless to router 2 where it is usin wired cable to my laptop. try the other method which is "wireless bridge". but cant able to connect PPPoE. so i search google for ans on how to. than find out tat by usin WDS than wil be able to connect.

this wil be applicable to ppl usin PPPoE on their com to connect internet. as by usin this method, it is better performance compare to routers itself managing the internet.

to ppl who hav spare routers, u can try it out..

the reason y i'm not usin laptop's wireless to connect is becos of the low signal. but i were to use router to connect, its alot better signal as i can put near windows resultin faster latency. n i also can boost the signal not by buyin a high gain antenna,but to print n DIY an antenna booster call "windsurfer". here's the link of the template.

this is how "Windsurfer" antenna booster looks like..

my spare wrt54g v5 router.

router1..as this is the main router, so its best to use high gain antenna.

the modem i'm using.. haha..in order to make it stand in vertical(which is cooler to prevent overheat), i use aluminum to bend n create a stand! btw the firmware of st536v6 can be found here.

to how can this be done wil be both routers hav to flash to ddwrt firmware. ddwrt latest firmware is out which is v24-sp1. but wrt54g v5 n wrt54gl use different method to flash.take note!

for flashin wrt54g version 5 router, here. this tutorial also include on how to activate 16mb ram on wrt54gs ONLY!
for flashing wrt54gl, gs, gx, other version of wrt54g, here.

here's help if u brick your router, eg.if u directly flash a size over 3mb in wrt54gl, it wil show "upgrade fail". tat is when i jus did it n fail.. after c through the help, i recovered it. so on wrt54gl, u must flash a mini or micro version b4 a standard or vpn version.

alrite, now comes to how to make 2 routers communicate to each other.

On router1
- don need to touch anything on Setup page, rmb the Local IP Address under Network Setup.

- proceed to Wireless, change Wireless Network Mode to "G-Only" if u r only using on wireless-G device.
- change Wireless Network Name(SSID) to the name u wan.
- u might wan to change Wireless Channel to others(eg.for me i prefer "8") as "6" n "11" is the most ppl usin n as it wil affect performance too.
- at Senstivity Range (ACK Timing), u can change to "0" as this improves performance.
- finish everything, jus click Apply Settings.

- go to Wireless Security, choose your Security Mode n insert password in Key 1.
- click Apply Settings.

- go to Advanced Settings, change CTS Protection Mode to Disable if u r only using wireless-G device. as puttin it Auto wil decrease performance.
- change Frame Burst to Enable. this wil increase performance.
- click Apply Settings.

- go to WDS, now select LAN under the options n enter router2 MAC address.
- click Apply Settings.

- go to NAT/QoS, UPnP, enable UPnP Service.
- click Apply Settings.
- to DMZ, u might wan to Enable n enter router2 ip to open all the port to router2.

On router2
- Under Network Setup, Local IP Address, change the ip address different from router1 (eg. if router1 is 192.168.1.1, than router2 is 192.168.1.2)
- change Gateway n Local DNS to 192.168.1.1(if this is router1 ip).
- under Network Address Server Settings (DHCP), disable DHCP Server as ip can be assigned from router1 to prevent conflict.
- click Apply Settings.

- go to Wireless, change to the same settings as router1.
- click Apply Settings.
- go to Wireless Security, same settings as router1.
- click Apply Settings.
- got to Advanced Settings, same settings as router1.
- click Apply Settings.
- now to WDS, select LAN option n enter router1 MAC Address.
- click Apply Settings.

at this time, both router started to communicate.

- go to Security, Disable SPI Firewall.
- click Apply Settings.

- go to NAT/QoS, under UPnP, Enable UPnP Service.
- click Apply Settings.

u might wan to check n change Maximum Ports to "4096" at Administration there.

ok..end of the settings n configuration for both routers..any problem, pls do inform me.

now check under Status, Wireless..under WDS Nodes, u shld be able to c the MAC Address n Signal Quality on both routers.

hopefully this can help ppl who wan to try n to ppl who needs help in doin this.

well...tinkin of how does the name "comex" n "sitex" come from? jus a info for u..

ahh..tirin for the 4 days lo.. sian sian.

durin this 4 days, the meals provided was nice! except tat its cold liao.. mayb cos aircon too cold? but food not tat cold la...haha.. also not gd was tat only got a short break for meal lor. walau.. but i tink cos need to take turns to eat, so tats y short one..around 10 to 15 mins only. leg very suan!!

at 1:48pm...

at 9:18pm.. stil alot of ppl. already stop the crowd from comin in.

wooh...tat was fast. tink our booth 1st to pack up when the announcement announce the lucky draw at 9plus..

tink mayb is 2 weeks ago when the beijing olympic closin ceremony, try watchin HD5 usin the other software which is Arcsoft totalmedia. it was better than the default program Avermedia. both program set to above normal priority, Avermedia wil stil lag abit. but totalmedia was quite smooth. so snapshot some pic of firework of the beijing olympic on HD5!

ON 23/8, which is 2nd day of fireworks. but b4 tat went wild wild wet!!! we 3 bro, jasmine n apple. we all really had a damm fun time playin n enjoyin there! AHH! i donno how to describe, very thrillin.. we all playin all except the ridin in the air one. tat one very cold de lor..tink quite scary also.

but tat day was a bad weather also. play awhile liao jiu rain heavily. omg! only stop one time.becos of thunder n lightnin.

fun part is where we all played the wat they call "family ride",where 5 or 6 ppl sit together n go down the slope! wow..very fast la! heart almost wan to pop out liao.

stil got another one also more worse, the place shaped like a "V" shape one. only 2 at a time. donno how high is tat. so is like the lighter one wil sit front, heavier wil sit at the back. i n xian almost wan to fly out.

jasmine n apple worse! they fly out! mayb they both too light liao...haha.. or mayb didnt grab tightly ba.

there's one scary one, goin through a dark dark tunnel down the slope. half way wil get stuck if u usin seatin position.. lucky i nv get stuck. inside is totally no light..even u close eyes also no difference..lol.

so we stop around 5pm than go bath n go ler. or else cant get on time at marina bay to catch the fireworks! cos surely alot of ppl than fri one.

canon one is $1 cheaper than retail price. so not quite worth it if u wanna take bus n go suntec jus to get a dollar cheaper ink. if u were a popular member, tats alot more cheaper liao..

yeah..went for both days fireworks.. n also b4 2nd day fireworks on sat went to wild wild wet wit we 3 bro, jasmine n apple! haha.. really fun.. pic of fireworks wil be postin up soon!

ah...i donno my internet dc(last few weeks ago start) is it becos of outside my hse the wiring.. but the 3rd lineman came this time didnt found out any line problem. so he suggest to change the wirin at substation there at blk235(where many blk tel line is connected) there. so today did a final re-connect wirin outside my hse n found out a part tat didnt check, not sure is it rusted or corrosion..

2days ago did a check n find out tat there was a stripped open wire somewhere in the casin..than i rmb tat time the alarm system ppl done it. n also durin renovate, tat person also go wrap another line to it. idiot man! so than take out, re-connect properly n tapped nicely wit insulation tape so tat it wil not cos corrosion n get rust.. yeah..hopefully it solved!

don u find it dangerous for a helicopter to fly over these fireworks? tat is y tat fireworks which shoot across the town shaped like "8" one is animated. they don wan to risk usin helicopter followin the fireworks. so they use the fireworks footprints which is computer-generated images to embed in live footage of the show. looks real rite? haha.. tat person than make the images shaky so tat u all tink its live.

ahh...TODAY paper(13 aug, page14) got another news abt the singer also FAKE! lol..abit disgrace sia! the actual voice of the little gal tat was singin was actually the other gal!

the gal(9years old) on the left was change last min! very cute rite? c the thing in her ear? i tink tat is to match the real singer's voice lo..so tat u tink is her voice. to me, when i was watchin, i suddenly find it weird n suspect the voice already. the gal(7years old) on the rite fail the cuteness test wit the officials organising the ceremony. but she stil feel very honour to hav her voice on the show! gd gd...haha..hopefully wont be another fake thing on the show..

last min decided to go to marina bay to watch fireworks(09/08).. so go out at around 5 plus. although mrt is fast but confirm alot of ppl wil use tat transport, so we take 130. to prevent tat LOTS of ppl.. haha.. clever hor! lol..

so we drop near microsoft building there which is near raffles place mrt. so if there is any fireworks on tat day n u wan fast, if u wan take mrt, drop at raffles place-more nearer to fullerton n merlion there. if esplanade or near tat area than wil be at city hall drop. if by bus(which we prefer take), take 130, 162. becos the bus wil arrive at fullerton there.

alrite, this year's ppl who watchin ndp, really quite suai! becos at the time when ndp starts at 5.45pm, its stil rainin! omg... past few year when the ndp start, no more rain ler. but this year different lor.. which make almost all the ppl watchin ndp one wear raincoat n cap. rain than stop when around during F-16 jets performance. heng lor...or else the whole show rain really suai! haha..

btw some news on singapore fireworks festival which happens on 22 n 23 aug, 9pm. it wil be from FRANCE n SOUTH KOREA!

ahh!! this mornin the singnet person lineman come stil nv solve the problem lo..not a big one la. jus tat few days ago on sat the other person change the Path Mode to INTERLEAVED!! sian! all the latency become damm high la... jus wan u to solve the dc..not to change to tat mode n affect my latency speed!

some help here to fix windows update problem after repairing of windows xp

1st u hav to stop Automatic Updates

- click Start and than Run, type in "services.msc"

- search for Automatic Updates, rite click Stop or click Stop on the left.
(don close it as later need to Start the Automatic Updates back..)

2nd...

- click Start, and than Run, type in "%windir%\SoftwareDistribution", click OK.

a folder shld come out..

now.. delete all the files inside "Download" folder.

after tat, go back to Services window n Start the Automatic Updates.

now try again windows updates to c it works or not..

hopefully this could helps...any problem jus ask me..

ah!!! this few mths really alot of nice movie out lor.. so can say now n than go watch movie.

today jus watch Hellboy 2 The Golden Army..wit family n jasmine. sorry friend! cant watch wit u all..

its really damm funny! his favourite quote "oh crap!". haha...oh crap! wat m i doin? LOL!

its same as funny n action as the 1st movie of hellboy in 2004!

but if u wanna watch the 1st part b4 second one, i might be uploadin it! so jus do come back for links!

tat person is really incredible! nobody can ever kill him. even powerful bomb is also nth to him.
he can even fly! not gd is tat he can damage a lot of thing causing "$$$ to fly away" lo..

wat the funny part is tat when he say "your head wil be in his ass, and his head wil be in your ass".. N, he did it in the prison! wooh! wonder wat happen to tat person ass hole lo.. wahaha..

but than the person tat he knw, the wife is also same as hancock. means they were the same type tat already live century ago. they also wont get old de. wow!

now comes to tat when they were near together quite long, they wil slowly lose their power. they were than attack by some ppl n injure. the woman than die..but hancock force himself to run further from her. slowly she come back alive.. actually hancock n the woman is husband n wife. the storyline abit complicated. donno how they become like this so powerful de.

ok..now second movie..10 promises to my dog. *cry cry* *so touchin!*

ticket n receipt.

we all watch on wed at vivocity, 7.05pm. we 3 bro, jasmine, yuting, diying, stacy n sharon. only all GV hav..cathay only orchard. but wed is the last day for cathay ler. sms alot of ppl...some nv reply, so don care. than got 2 not free.. nvm..next time we come out again k.

really very angry y eNets was unavailable.. try to use credit card which xian got.but his one is mastercard. not sure can or not..as they stated "preferred visa"! walau...might as well put mastercard also since it is a credit card n also stated in F.A.Q! idiot la! so no choice hav to use phone bookin. try to book all 8 seats, but stupid phone bookin cant separate half n select front 4th row. so hang up n call again!

this time round hav to call 2 times, which total got to pay extra $1 bookin fee..total $2 bookin fee lo. sian! in the end we all manage to seats as high as possible. 4seats at the left, 2nd row from the top. than the other 4 wil be on the rite, 3rd row from the top! than i go pay n collect the ticket from AXS after we reached vivo n eat. poor jasmine...no time to eat. n she only had a meal tat day. so kelian.

b4 watchin the movie, explore some shop..

rmb the movie tat was look like those? yeah...so cute n nice!

here comes the story.. there is this little gal which is 14 years old(very chio hor?). this gal also acted a movie too. forgot wat movie liao..like abt creature one. at 1st she really like to keep a puppy dog which is the pic above! so cute! one day she spoted in her house garden n she was damm excited! at tat time her mother already last stage of cancer ler.

than at the hospital, she brought it up to show to her mother. her mother was very happy tat she like the puppy dog tat she wan. n than her mother start to come out wit 10 promises, which is also refer to herself(mother).but tellin to the puppy dog instead. her mother also told her tat the dog's life is 10years.

her mother than die ler...which than her mother wan the dog as a replacement to treasure the dog more and also 10 promises to the dog. she is so sad tat she laid on the bed for 2days. when she finally wake up n stand up, she found out tat she cant move her neck ler. haha...this is also the funny part..she walk as if a blind person. aiyo!

alrite..when they take a walk at the beach, the dog saw her own mother liao. she than walk away n tink tat the dog wil not be wit her...instead the dog go wit her.. wow! so romantic! haha... than the dog's mother's owner said tat the puppy dog was given to her by her mother..

wat was surprise tat her neck can move when the dog suddenly play the game wit her! congrats! than her dad said "wa..even doctors cant cure her neck". lol... weird rite? dog can be better than doctors? wooh... the dog hav some special power.

one day, her old friend(which eventually become her boyfriend) appear on a poster abt a guitar performance. she shock! she than were to c him n his concert.

but after a while, he MIA ler. she cant reach him for a very long time. but actually he meet a accident tat injure his neck n his finger system.

so she knw tat her dog hav a special power to cure.. she than leave the dog to him n told the dog to cure his finger. Bingo! he played the guitar wit no problem after the dog go lick the guitar in order to wan him to play the music. congrats again!

here's the touching part where the dog fall sick. she rush home! n than her dad take out the book which her mother made the book wit 10 promises. she slowly read out.. by the time she read the 10th promises, the dog leave ler... ahh!! so kelian! it made me so touch tat my tears come out.. *cry*

in the end, they married ler.. at the part where the old man sings, HAHAHAHA...jasmine laughed. aiyo...she very bad sia..i also laugh too...cos the old man sing until very funny lor.

the movie really moved out heart! really recommended movie!

after the movie, diying, stacy n sharon donno y so hurry sia.. OOO..actually they wan to go home to watch tv show.. icic..

than left we us 5 person.. so we went up to the rooftop!

wow...hdd capacity is getting more bigger!

omg..u heard b4 1TB capacity rite? now another 500gb is added into 1TB, n tat total up to 1.5TB of space!

btw new model of 2.5" hdd already on their website, which is 5400.5 n 7200.3. these hdd boast their capacity from 250gb to 320gb. for 5400.5, it consume lesser power compare to the previous 5400.4. both model G-Shock protection were also increase!
